MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The latest predictions from Accuweather say the major snow storm forecast for the Eastern Panhandle is likely to hit earlier than expected.
“It looks like it overspreads the area in the morning,” Accuweather Meteorologist Bill Dager said. “It falls heavy at times as we head into tomorrow (Friday) afternoon and evening.”
Total snowfall could reach two to three feet by storms end on Saturday.
Road crews in Berkeley County are ready ahead of the storm.
“We’re going to start pre-treating today (Thursday),” Joe Castaldo with the Division of Highways said.
He says crews have already broken into their 12 hour shifts.
“We’ll be out there until it is gone,” Castaldo said.
